The 57th Edition of “Semanas Musicales” in Frutillar was held at the Teatro del Lago, an internationally renowned cultural centre on the shores of Llanquihue Lake in Chile’s Los Lagos Region.
This prestigious musical event has been held continuously since 1968 and is regarded as one of the most distinguished in Chile and across Latin America.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago and “Semanas Musicales”, along with the Orquesta de Cámara de Valdivia (OCV), Italian Maestro Claudio Berra—a young pianist awarded in numerous competitions, including the 2023 “Dr. Luis Sigall” piano competition by the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) in Viña del Mar, Chile—participated in two concerts scheduled for this edition of the event.
Maestro Berra performed as a soloist in a concert with the Orquesta de Cámara de Valdivia, conducted by Maestro Rodolfo Fischer, who also serves as a professor of orchestral conducting at the Musik-Akademie in Basel. During the “Conciertos de Mediodía” series, Maestro Berra gave a piano recital featuring works by Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, Enrique Granados, and Isaac Albéniz.
