The Consulate General of Italy in Bahia Blanca, in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society and the National University of the South, organised the presentation of the book “Dante and Borges, Two with the Trinity” by Professor Rodolfo Ellena.
The work, conceived as a theatrical dialogue and published both in Italian and in a Spanish edition, brings face to face the Supreme Poet and the Argentine writer—who had read and deeply appreciated Dante—in an intense exchange rich in elements common to both masters.
Divided into nine “moments”, the conversation ranges from ironic tones to philosophical discussion, touching on themes such as time, religion, and love, while calling upon figures like Saint Augustine and Freud. This work aims to bring Argentine readers closer to these two great authors and, at the same time, to contribute to the promotion of Italian literature in Argentina.
The event was introduced by Consul General Nicola Bazzani, who emphasised that the presentation formed part of the “Dante Dì” celebrations. The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the National University of the South, Diego Poggiese, supported the event, while Professor of European Literature Sandro Abate engaged in dialogue with the author.
