A new edition of “Corti e Sorsi”, supported and organised by the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi, will take place on Thursday 10 July at the “Casa Italia” venue (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). The event forms part of “Fare Cinema”, the initiative launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to promote Italian cinema abroad.
During the evening, three of the five short films shortlisted for the 2025 David di Donatello Award in the “Best Short Film” category will be screened. In “Majonezë” by Giulia Grandinetti, the protagonist Elyria lives with her family under the strict rules of her father, suppressing her anger through obedience. A deep desire for emancipation drives her to a powerful act of rebellion. In “Domenica Sera”, winner of the 2025 edition, director Matteo Tortone tells the story of Alex and Nemy, who meet by chance one night in the basement of a building on the outskirts of Turin. The two young people find solace in their shared solitude and vulnerability, experiencing a fleeting connection that is quickly interrupted.
“The Eggregores’ Theory” by Andrea Gatopoulos explores a dystopian society in which a language-related disease renders certain words lethal to humankind. The protagonist’s memories resurface, evoking the chaos of that time and the abrupt end of a romantic relationship.
Following the screenings, guests will be invited to enjoy a convivial tasting of Italian food and wine as part of the “Sentiero diVino” initiative, organised in collaboration with Viet-It Wines and Caffè Italia.
