The exhibition “Good news. Women changing architecture” is currently on display at the Faculty of Architecture of UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). The project is promoted by the MAXXI – National Museum of 21st century Arts in Rome, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and UNAM.

The exhibition aims to offer the local public a new, more inclusive perspective on architecture, focusing on the role of women in Italian architecture – from the talented pioneers of the 20th century to the most influential voices on today’s contemporary scene.

Closely linked to the exhibition “Good news. Women in architecture” previously presented at MAXXI, the show is structured in several sections. The first – “Stories of Italian women architects” – is dedicated to the projects and biographies of leading figures in post-war Italian architecture, such as Lina Bo Bardi, Gae Aulenti, Cini Boeri, and Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo. The second section – “Practices in Italy” – focuses on works carried out in Italy by international female architects. The exhibition concludes with the chapters “Narratives and visions”, featuring interviews with experts and scholars on gender equality and on the increasingly conscious relationship between “gender and space”.
