As part of the 10th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (under the theme “Italian cuisine: health, culture and innovation”), the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy in Lyon, in collaboration with Italian Trade Agency, Paris Office and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Lyon, organised a series of events from 13 to 21 November 2025.

According to Chiara Petracca, Consul General of Italy in Lyon and Acting Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, “This year’s events highlighted the excellence and international prestige of Italian cuisine. Thanks to the collaboration of outstanding partners, including Chef Fabrizio Mellino (Ristorante Quattro Passi, Nerano – 3 Michelin stars), the Alma International School of Italian Cuisine in Colorno (Parma), and the Institut Lyfe in Lyon, the programme showcased how our cuisine can combine tradition with innovation, without compromising on taste or, above all, health”.

The multi-Michelin-starred Chef Fabrizio Mellino conducted a masterclass, offering students an immersive experience in Italian culinary techniques and demonstrating the preparation of several signature dishes. A starred dinner celebrated Italian haute cuisine, with dishes prepared by Chef Fabrizio Mellino and Chef Fulvio Vailati (Alma). A session with Valérie Oertel, dietitian, psycho-nutritionist, and trainer for the “Plan National Nutrition Santé”, focused on the Mediterranean diet as a model for a balanced and sustainable lifestyle. In addition, Davide Minnella’s 2022 film “La cena perfetta” (The Perfect Dinner) was screened, celebrating a passion for cuisine as a meeting point of cultures, flavours, and second chances, and highlighting the universal value of food as a language of sharing and renewal.
