The ninth edition of Targa Classica, the automotive event inspired by the historic Sicilian Targa Florio, ended yesterday in Melbourne. The event, supported by the Consulate General of Italy, saw more than 100 vintage and sports cars parade between the Mornington Peninsula and the heart of the Australian metropolis.
The Consul General, Chiara Mauri, presided over the award ceremony at the Olympic Parks Garden Square, celebrating an industry — the automotive sector — that represents the third largest Italian export to Australia, worth 165 million Australian dollars.
The event proves to be not only a sporting challenge but also a strategic showcase for the design and engineering of Made in Italy, combining culture, innovation and passion for motoring.
