The Italian Cultural Institute of Copenhagen and the Nielsen Saloner music association collaborated in presenting a recital by pianist Gianluca Luisi, one of the most distinguished Italian performers of his generation. Winner of the International J.S. Bach Competition Saarbrücken–Würzburg, Luisi has appeared throughout his career in some of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Musikverein in Vienna, and numerous festivals across Europe, America and Asia.
The programme presented in Copenhagen, devoted entirely to the Italian musical tradition and its legacy, spanned different periods and musical languages: from the luminous classicism of Muzio Clementi, to the refined modernity of Goffredo Petrassi, and the celebrated virtuoso transcriptions by Franz Liszt inspired by Italian culture.
Luisi delivered a performance of remarkable artistic maturity, guiding the audience through a musical journey marked by elegance, virtuosity and profound expressive depth.
