the Farnesina hosts the presentation of the new edition of CinemArena

Today the Farnesina is hosting the presentation of the new edition of CinemArena, an itinerant cinema project financed from the Fund for Africa with the aim of promoting and disseminating correct information on the risk of illegal migration, with a special focus on the principal Countries of origin of the migrants coming to Europe. During the presentation, images will be projected of the past edition of the initiative along with the testimonials of this year’s activities, which kicked off in September in Senegal. CinemArena is an initiative jointly launched in 2002 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The meeting will open with remarks by the MAECI’s Director General for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Maria Vignali, followed by contributions from the Deputy Director General for Development Cooperation, Paolo Cuculi, the Deputy Chief of the Civil Liberties and Immigration Department of the Ministry of the Interior, Bruno Corda, the Director of the IOM’s Coordinating Office for the Mediterranean, Federico Soda and the Deputy Director of AICS, Leonardo Carmenati.
