The 2018 Sapienza Human Rights Award given to the CIDU
The prestigious ‘Sapienza Human Rights Award’ for 2018 was given to the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDU). The award, established by the Master in International Protection of Human Rights at the La Sapienza University of Rome in 2013, recognizes each year the outstanding contribution by an institution or personality in the promotion of human rights and the protection of human dignity. This year the Master has decided to confer the Sapienza Human Rights Award on the CIDU, celebrating its 40th anniversary, for the “fundamental role it has played in recent years in the promotion of human rights in Italy”. The plaque was collected by Fabrizio Petri, President of the CIDU, during the awards ceremony at the Department of Earth Sciences at the University, upon conclusion of the presentation of the activities of the Master in International Protection of Human Rights coordinated by Professor Sergio Marchisio.
