‘Economic Diplomacy’ Report presented in Milan on the impact of the actions of the Foreign Ministry on enterprises abroad
The ‘Economic Diplomacy’ 2018 Report was presented today in an event at the Milan headquarters of Assolombarda on the impact of the actions of the Foreign Ministry on Italian enterprises worldwide. The Report was commissioned to Prometeia by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The aim of the Report, which analysed 785 projects implemented in 2017, is to evaluate and promote the activity that the Foreign Ministry and its diplomatic and consular network performs in favour of Italian companies. The impact of these activities was evaluated in terms of added value, tax revenue and employment rates, both direct and indirect (through the supply chain of the companies concerned), and through the whole production chain (in terms of the consumption of the employees of a company in that chain).
Moreover, the survey also measured the impact that the initiatives taken by Italian Embassies to remove non-tariff barriers in foreign markets had on Italian exports, based on technical, health or phytosanitary standards.
The Report presentation event will open with remarks by the President of Assolombarda, Carlo Bonomi, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Manlio Di Stefano, and the President of Prometeia, Angelo Tantazzi.
