A meeting of the Task Force for Disputed Minors was held today at the Farnesina, chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting, which was held at the Directorate General for Italians Abroad, was also attended by representatives of the Ministries of Justice and the Interior. The event was characterized by full and proactive cooperation between the three main institutional players that manage international child abduction cases. Discussions focused on a number of complex child abduction cases, where minors went missing, and joint efforts were identified in order to locate them. During 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs handled 379 cases involving disputed minors, mostly in Europe, followed by the Americas, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, Asia and, lastly, Africa.
