TRAINING COURSE FOR HIGH-LEVEL OFFICIALS OF CIVIL PROTECTION SERVICES OF ASEAN COUNTRIES
From today until September 15, a high-level delegation from ASEAN countries, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, is in Italy for a week of training and exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of civil protection. The aim of the visit is to strengthen technical and scientific knowledge and the collaboration between Italy and the ASEAN countries for disaster risk reduction.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – which also provided the financial support – in the framework of its commitment to enhance the partnership between Italy and ASEAN countries (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar), with the active collaboration of the Civil Protection Department.
The advanced training course started today in Rome, at the headquarters of the Department, with greetings of the Head of Department Angelo Borrelli and the Head of South-East Asia and the Pacific Division of Farnesina, and with a visit to the operation rooms and the Central Functional Center. In the coming days the delegation will be hosted by Eucentre Foundation, CIMA Foundation and INGV – with training sessions and field visits that will allow the participants to witness the Italian scientific excellences of the Civil Protection system.
