The Crisis Unit and the Civil Protection Department, together with Ministry of the Interior, organised a meeting at the Farnesina with the members of the Consular and Diplomatic Corps accredited to Italy to discuss national procedures to manage serious emergencies and to provide assistance to the foreign citizens involved.
Taking advantage of the opportunity offered by the “Campi Flegrei” exercises held in Naples, the meeting perfected operating procedures and methods with a view to providing the necessary assistance to foreign citizens in case of a possible emergency in the area. The meeting held at the Crisis Unit shared the results of the exercise and offered the opportunity for a mutual constructive exchange of ideas in order to inform foreign diplomats of the evacuation procedures of the areas of crisis and the relative assistance protocols for the foreign citizens involved in the emergencies eventually occurring on the national territory.
The common commitment is to establish an ever-closer cooperation between Italian Institutions and the Consular and Diplomatic Corps in order to achieve an ever-faster, efficient and informed action plan aimed at protecting and securing the safety of the populations struck by an emergency.
