In times of pandemic, you can visit and get to know the work of Arnaldo Pomodoro with a virtual tour of the artist’s collection, the body of his works, his correspondence with artists and critics, sketches and all the other materials in his Archive.
The entrance to the Labirinto (Labyrinth) of Pomodoro, author of the enormous sphere placed at the Piazzale della Farnesina and of other paintings and sculptures housed in the rooms of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the moment suspended, becomes a virtual tour organized by the Arnoldo Pomodoro Foundation. The digital tour is an opportunity to experience, albeit from a distance, how an idea is born and how inspiration can become a work of art. In addition to the sensory experience, there are some educational and interactive activities divided by degree of difficulty, designed to be accessible to children and adults alike. A journey, therefore, that leverages imagination and creativity.
Moreover, with the aim of keeping the dialogue with the school alive and shortening the distance in this moment of transformation, starting with the digital tour, the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation has created a competition dedicated to primary and secondary schools on the theme of the ‘school trip to the Il Labirinto of Arnaldo Pomodoro’. All classes that register for the competition will receive a free children’s book ‘Il Labirinto di Arnaldo Pomodoro’ for the school library. The contest starts today, and it is possible to send the materials produced to the following e-mail address didattica@fondazionearnaldopomodoro.it by 30 June 2020 at the latest.
