The Italian-Turkish Government-level Summit will be taking place at Villa Madama on Tuesday 8 May 2012. The Summit will be chaired by Prime Minister Mario Monti and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Taking part will be the Ministers for Foreign Affairs, the Economy, Home Affairs, Economic Development, Employment and Social Affairs, and the Environment.


At around 14.30 a number of bilateral agreements will be signed and the closing press conference will be held.


Journalists, photographers and camera operators interested in following the event must apply for accreditation no later than 16.00 of Monday 7 May 2012.


Accreditation badges can be collected in person at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – rear entrance – in Via Macchia della Farnesina according to the following schedule:


– Photographers and camera operators from 09.00 (for the arrivals and “family photo”)


– Journalists – 12.30 (for the press conference).


The accreditation desk will close at 14.15.


Journalists and camera operators interested in following the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation using the online accreditation system. Please complete the interactive form provided in the “Journalists Area” of our web-page http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format.


If it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, applications should be sent by fax to the Foreign Ministry’s Press and Institutional Communication Service (fax 06/3691.2122–tel. 06/3691.3432) no later than 16.00 of Monday 7 May.


Since Villa Madama is closed to private vehicles, there will be a shuttle service between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Villa Madama from 09.15 until the end of the event.


TV crews will have access to the Villa on Monday 7 May from 17.00 to install their equipment. To obtain access they must submit an application by fax (no. 06 6779.5441) specifying the name, surname, date and place of birth of crew members and describing the equipment concerned.
