Please be reminded that Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi is scheduled to meet with the Foreign Minister of Mozambique, Oldemiro Baloi, on Tuesday 16 October at 12:30. The two ministers will hold a press conference at the end of their meeting, immediately followed by their opening speeches at the Mozambique “Country Presentation” which the press will be allowed to cover.
Mozambique is, to date, the main African recipient of interventions by the Italian Development Cooperation, and is one of Italy’s fundamental partners in building peace and security in Africa. Within the context of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Rome Peace Accord (4 October 1992), the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organised a “Country Presentation” dedicated to Mozambique, and to better informing our business community of the growing possibilities for investments there. The main focus will be on the key sectors of infrastructure, resources (water, gas and minerals), renewable energy, farming/food production and tourism. The presentation is part of a broader effort at strengthening bilateral relations with Mozambique, not least in light of a significant increase in trade of over €300 million, with more than €100 million in investments by Italian firms.
