On Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 November, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni will attend the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) organized by FAO and the World Health Organization (WHO) for 19-21 November in Rome at the FAO headquarters.
The central theme of the high-level discussions will be how to confront the multifaceted problem of hunger, malnutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and obesity.
Participants will be representing over 190 countries, UN agencies, intergovernmental organisations, civil societies, foundations and private and other sectors. Present also will be more than 100 ministers for agriculture and health and other sectors, as well as Pope Francis, Queen Letizia of Spain, King Letsie III of Lesotho, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Melinda Gates, Jeffrey Sachs and other experts.
Journalists and camera persons not already accredited through the on-line system (expired Friday 14 November), can receive accreditation in person directly at the ICN2 venue, the Aranciera di San Sisto, in Via di Valle delle Camene 9/11 (Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, across from the Baths of Caracalla Terme).
