On Tuesday, 31 May, at 9:00 a.m., the Farnesina will host the meeting of the Fulbright Scholars, an event promoted by the Fulbright Commission aimed as an orientation for Italian grant holders leaving for the U.S.A. and American grant holders holders coming to Italy.
The meeting will be opened by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincenzo Amendola, and by the Ambassador of the United States to Italy, John Phillips. To follow there will be with opening remarks by Vincenzo De Luca, the Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, by Roberto Wirth, the president of CABSS – Assistance Centre for Deaf and Deafblind Children, and by Paola Sartorio, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission.
The event will be articulated into two sessions: the first will be institutional, will include opening remarks and will be moderated by Gianni Riotta, a writer, journalist and teacher, a Fulbright Alumnus and member of the Fulbright Commission’s Board of Directors.
The second session will be operational, and will consist of round tables on the promotion of the Italian language and culture in the United States and on topical international issues.

The meeting will be attended by around 60 scholars from Italy (who are about to leave for the United States) and from the United States (who are spending their study and research period in Italy), in addition to the members of the Board and renowned personalities of the academic world, of academic institutes and of private agencies with which the Commission holds collaboration programmes.

They will also need to attach, unless already provided, the required information in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbal released by the Embassy in Rome of the media organisation’s Country).

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews should enter the Ministry from the main central entrance– left-hand side – between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m.
