ACCREDITATION NOTICE – Conference “Youth and the Mediterranean: Exploring New Approaches to Dialogue and Cooperation” (Farnesina, 19 January 2017)

On Thursday, 19 January, at 10:00 a.m., the Farnesina will host the Conference “Youth and the Mediterranean: Exploring New Approaches to Dialogue and Cooperation”, organised by the Institute of International Affairs (IAI) within the framework of the “New-Med Research Network” Programme and promoted by the Italian Chair of the OECD’s “Mediterranean Contact Group”.

The Conference will open with remarks by Alessandro Azzoni, the Permanent Representative of Italy to the OECD, Armando Barucco, the head of the Foreign Ministry’s Analysis, Planning and Historic and Diplomatic Documentation Unit, Ettore Greco, Director of the Institute of International Affairs, and Nicolò Russo Perez, coordinator of international affairs of the Compagnia di San Paolo.

Young researchers from the Mediterranean Countries and North Africa will present their projects – developed within the framework of the “New-Med Research Network” Programme – on a new approach to dialogue and cooperation within the MENA Countries. 

The event will be divided into four sessions: the first will be dedicated to discussing the effects of climate change in the MENA region; the second session will deal with the issue of citizenship and the weakening of the government system. The two afternoon sessions will begin at 2 p.m. and will focus on the radicalisation and the threat posed by ISIS, and the migration and refugee crisis.  

Journalists, photographers, and TV crews interested in following the event are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following two ways:

–    by clicking the event concerned and filling out the interactive form at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching thereto, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).    

–   by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching thereto the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews should enter the Ministry from the main entrance– left-hand side – from 9:30 a.m.
