Friday January 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will participate for the first time at the Touring Club Italiano’s initiative “Aperti per Voi” [Open for You], which was launched in 2005 with the purpose of giving public access to Italian cultural and artistic locations. This initiative will open the doors of the Palazzo della Farnesina every month, offering guided tours, thanks to the contribution of Touring Club volunteers.
“It is a great initiative, ” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, “because of its dual goal: namely, allowing access to institutional buildings for the general public and offering all visitors the possibility of admiring the magnificent Farnesina Collection, a contemporary art collection that includes major masterpieces representing the history of Italian art in the 20th century.”
The visits to the Farnesina Collection will be scheduled on the last Friday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except for July and August) by booking at the following website:

Members of the press interested in following the event are requested to apply for the guided tour at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Friday 27 January, sending a request for accreditation in one of the following ways:
– by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching thereto, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews will be able to access the Farnesina from the main entrance, left side, at 3:30 p.m.
