ACCREDITATION NOTICE – Joint Action for the Promotion of Italian Higher Education Abroad (Farnesina, 28 March 2017)

On Tuesday, 28 March, at 10:00 a.m., the Farnesina will host the Joint Action for the Promotion of Italian Higher Education Abroad, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). The Conference will open with remarks by Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano and Education Minister Valeria Fedeli, who will be followed by the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Filippo Bubbico. The keynote speakers of the Joint Action’s introductory session include Gaetano Manfredi, president of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), Giovanni Brugnoli, Vice President for Human Capital of Confindustria, Monica Maggioni, president of RAI and Prof Renaud Dehousse, director of the European University Institute (EUI).

“Italy means excellence in knowledge on all fronts, from teaching our language, to the arts, literature, design, architecture, engineering and many other sectors. The main strategy of the Joint Action is to promote all the sectors of excellence of our training system, boost the disciplines singled out in coordination with the business world, contribute to improving the way the system is perceived at international level, making it better known and more appealing especially in geopolitical areas, Countries and priority markets of national interest,” said Minister Angelino Alfano.

The Conference programme includes the presentation of the Strategic Plan for the promotion of the national higher education system abroad by the Director-General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Plenipotentiary Minister Vincenzo De Luca, and the Head of the Department of Higher Education and Research of MIUR, Prof Marco Mancini.

The Plan, which is the outcome of the ad hoc Working Group that was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), the Ministry of the Interior and in association with the main players of the higher education system (CRUI, Uni-Italia, the Universities for Foreigners in Siena and Perugia, CIMEA) and with the world of business (Confindustria), convened to define a common strategy to promote Italian higher education abroad.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the Introductory Session of the Conference from 10 to 11 a.m. are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following two ways:

–    by filling the interactive form and clicking on the event concerned at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching thereto, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).   

–   by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching thereto the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.

    

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews may collect their accreditation badges in person at the main entrance of the Ministry, left-hand side, from 9 a.m.
