PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE – “Risk evaluation and adoption of countermeasures: the case of the sectors at high risk of corruption for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation” event (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, 12 December 2017)

On Tuesday, 12 December, between 11.00 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., the “Risk evaluation and adoption of countermeasures: the case of the sectors at high risk of corruption for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation” event will be held to celebrate International Anti-Corruption Day at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Opening remarks will be made by Renato Varriale, Inspector General and Head of anti-corruption at the Farnesina and Raffaele Cantone, President of the Anti-Corruption National Authority (ANAC).  Closing remarks will be made by the Director General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies at the Farnesina, Luigi Vignali.

 The results of “Risk prevention week in visa offices” abroad, held between 26 November and 2 December 2017, will be illustrated at the event. One of the main consular services carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is to issue entry visas in the interests of security and economic growth of the country. However, it is an area where there is a high risk of corruption and an average risk of poor management.

 There will be presentations by Rosaria Cicala, Head of anti-corruption at the Ministry of the Interior, Alberto Colella, Coordinator of entry visas at the Directorate General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies, Roberto Martini, Deputy Director General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies and Michele Vitali of Transparency International.

 Journalists, photographers and TV crews are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following ways:

–    by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at  http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country).  

–    by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210), attaching the letter of their media organisation (or press card for journalists) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews can enter the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the main entrance, left-hand side, between 10.30 and 11.00 a.m.
