On Thursday, 7 December, the Farnesina will host the Senior Officials Meeting of the Khartoum Process, at which Italy will take over the Presidency from Ethiopia for next year.
The Khartoum Process, which was formally launched in Rome in November 2014, is the privileged forum of dialogue and cooperation on the issue of migration between the EU and the Countries on the Southern Shore of the Mediterranean, of East Africa and of the Horn of Africa.
The meeting will be attended by approximately 80 delegates representing the 41 Countries of the Process, the International Organisation for Migration (OIM) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Present at the meeting will also be representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Foreign Ministry’s Directorate General for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies and of the Ministry of Labour.
The closing session (from 5:00-5:30 p.m.), which will be open to the press, will include remarks by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Benedetto Della Vedova.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews may collect their accreditation badges in person at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, main entrance – left-hand side – from 4:15 to 4:45 p.m.
