PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE

The AII / EUSAIR Ministerial Meeting will be held at the Town Hall (Palazzo degli Elefanti) in Catania on Thursday 24 May 2018, the day before the conclusion of the Italian Chairmanship of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (AII) and the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

The Meeting will see the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Minister for Cohesion Policies, the corresponding Ministers of the Delegations of partner Countries (Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia), representatives of the European Commission and the Secretary General of the AII. At the end of the Ministerial Meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Minister for Cohesion Policies and the representative of the EU Commission will hold a joint press conference at the Palazzo Centrale of the University, in the Auditorium of the Rectorate.

In the afternoon of 24 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will take part in the EUSAIR Forum, which will take place in Catania, at the university facilities of the Benedictine Monastery. The Forum is organized by the Cohesion Policy Department of the Office of the Prime Minister, in cooperation with the EU Commission.

10:00-10:30 a.m.: arrival of Delegations

12:00 a.m.: Family photo

(Photographers and TV crews only) – Fontana dell’Elefante

12:15 p.m.: Joint press conference

(Journalists, photographers and TV crews) – Palazzo dell’Università

HOW TO APPLY FOR ACCREDITATION

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in participating should apply for accreditation by and no later than 5:00 p.m on 23 May via email to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, attaching the letter from the media organisation (or national press identity card for freelancers) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

COLLECTION OF ACCREDITATION BADGE

24 May Accreditation badges may be collected at the Press and Communication Office at the University, in Piazza Università No. 2, first floor, in the following time slots:

·From 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. (photographers and TV crews for arrival of Delegations and family photo)

·From 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. (journalists, photographers and TV crews for press conference)

NOTA BENE

Press accreditation for the AII / EUSAIR Ministerial Meeting and the joint press conference, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, DOES NOT include press accreditation for the EUSAIR Forum, for which reference should be made to the following website: https://www.adriatic-ionian.eu/event/3rd-eusair-forum
