On 28 September 2018, at 10:00 a.m., Rome’s Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi will host the OSCE Conference titled “How to lower the risks of conflict and misunderstandings between states in cyberspace”, promoted by the Italian OSCE Chairmanship of 2018.
The event will be attended by numerous Italian and foreign government officials and international scholars and experts, bearing witness to the extent to which this project is internationally shared and supported.
Media representatives may attend the opening session, from approximately 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., which will begin with remarks by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guglielmo Picchi, and will be chaired by the Coordinator for Cyber Security Issues at the Foreign Ministry, Francesco Maria Talò.
The session will continue with contributions by Oleg Khramov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation; Karoly Dan, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the OSCE and Chair of the Informal Working Group on developing confidence-building measures to reduce the risks of conflict stemming from the use of ICTs; Christopher Painter, Former Coordinator for Cyber Issues at the U.S. Department of State and Commissioner in the Global Commission on Stability of Cyberspace.
