Press accreditation information note – Signing ceremony between Undersecretary Picchi – EUI and press point (Badia Fiesolana, 19 October 2018)

We inform that on 19 October 2018, the Badia Fiesolana (Via dei Roccettini 9, San Domenico, Fiesole) on the premises of the European University Institute (Sala Buonsanti), will host the signing ceremony of the Addendum to the Italy/EUI host country agreement by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guglielmo Picchi. With this agreement, Italy makes available to the EUI Palazzo Buontalenti, an important building in the centre of Florence to be subjected to a restructuring plan in order to accommodate the School of Transnational Governance.

The agreement reflects Italy’s renewed commitment to the Institute, which already enjoys the use of important premises in Fiesole and Florence, the most outstanding of which is the magnificent Villa Salviati, which was submitted to the lengthy restoration work that was recently concluded with superb results. The Villa also hosts the historical archives of the European Union.

The School of Transnational Governance is an ambitious project for the entire European Union whose aim is to offer governance training to institutional executives and representatives of civil society from the whole world, to provide them with the best possible training to meet major transnational challenges and maintain international order.
