On Tuesday, 9 April, at 11:00 a.m., the Farnesina’s Sala Aldo Moro will host the presentation of the WEWORLD INDEX 2019 Report on “Girls, Boys, Adolescents and Women: Education and Conflict”, organised by WeWorld GVC Onlus with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The WeWorld Index measures a Country’s progress through economic and social indicators, analysing the living conditions of the groups of people most at risk of exclusion such as children, adolescents and women. From the perspective of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, inclusion is multidimensional and does not only concern the economic sphere but all the dimensions of social living (health, education, employment, cultural, political, information, security, environmental).
The WeWorld Index 2019 highlights the tight connection between the rights of boy, girls and gender equality. The focus is especially on conflicts, the principal barrier to accessing high quality education in many of the conflict-stricken countries.
The event is open to the press and will open with remarks by Marco Chiesara, President of WeWorld GVC Onlus, and by Giorgio Marrapodi, Director General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting will be moderated by Maria Rita Grieco, an anchorwoman at RAI -TG2.
Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in covering the event are requested to apply for accreditation by sending an email to: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573), attaching thereto the following documentation: letter of his/her media organization containing his/her personal data (or press card for freelance reporters) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.
Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews may enter the Farnesina from the main entrance – left-hand side – from 10:30 a.m. and no later than 11:00 a.m.
