On Friday, 10 May 2019, at 10 a.m., the Farnesina’s Sala Aldo Moro will host the Opening Press Conference of Exco2019, the International Cooperation Expo dedicated to Cooperation as seen from the point of view of enterprises and Institutions.
Exco2019, which will run from 15 to 17 May 2019, is an innovative event developed and organised by Fiera Roma, Diplomacy and Sustainaway.
The Exco 2019 Conference has been granted the patronage of the European Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, the IFAD – Investing in Rural People and the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
Thanks to a dense programme of seminars, workshops and debates, Exco2019 represents an important opportunity to network international cooperation professionals with a view to developing initiatives and projects, finding sponsorships for investments and facilitating the coordination of sustainable action strategies. The event is also a forum in which to share good practices and evaluate future cooperation perspectives and partnerships within the framework of a Territorially Decentralised Cooperation, as well as offering training and job opportunities for young people interested in this sector. It will also be an occasion in which to present the European Commission’s External Investment Plan to finance development cooperation projects submitted by NGOs and aimed at implementing the 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs.
The speakers scheduled to speak at the event include the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chair of the Scientific Committee of Exco2019, Emanuela Claudia Del Re, the Foreign Ministry’s Director General of Development Cooperation, Giorgio Marrapodi, the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS, Luca Maestripieri, the Assistant Director General of Programme Support and Technical Cooperation of the FAO, Roberto Ridolfi and the Sole Director of Fiera Roma, Pietro Piccinetti.
