Reminder Press accreditation notice – Press Conference to launch the second edition of the “AIR – Artisti in residenza” Project (Farnesina, 11 December 2019)

On Wednesday, 11 December 2019, at 12:00 p.m., the Farnesina will host the Press Conference to launch the second edition of “AIR – Artisti in residenza”, a project promoted by MIDJ (Associazione dei Musicisti italiani di Jazz) and organised with the support of the SIAE and in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and its Network of Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes around the world.

The project, also thanks to the participation of the Europe Jazz Network, aims to stimulate the growth and promotion of Italian jazz abroad through the creation of a network of residences for young musicians and the subsequent “natural” establishment of exchanges and the cross-fertilisation with other cultures.

In the course of 2020, 20 emerging talents in the Italian jazz scene, each one from a different Italian region, will spend a 4-week period abroad in 20 different cities around the world:  Addis Ababa, Amman, Ankara, Budapest, Mexico City, Copenhagen, Dakar, Helsinki, Cairo, Lima, Lisbon, Montréal, Paris, Santiago, Sofia, Stockholm, Tirana, Tokyo, Toronto and Vienna. The residences will be assigned in a public drawing during the press conference, along with a musical “surprise”.

The scheduled speakers at the Conference will include Enzo Angeloni, Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Gaetano Blandini, Director General of the SIAE, Ada Montellanico in representation of the MIDJ, and Giambattista Tofoni, General Manager of Europe Jazz Network.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in covering the event are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following two ways:

 •  VIA E-MAIL to: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (Tel: +39 06/3691.3432 – 06/3691.8573), attaching thereto the aforesaid documentation.
