REMINDER Press accreditation note – Event “Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics” (Farnesina, Wednesday 8 June, 2022 – 11:00 am)​

On Wednesday 8 June 2022, at 11:00 am, at the Sassoli Room of the Farnesina, the event “Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games – Milano Cortina 2026. Sport diplomacy in the face of global challenges” will be held.

The event will be opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio and the Farnesina Secretary-General, Ettore Francesco Sequi. It shall present the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina and will be attended by institutional representatives, diplomatic delegations accredited in Italy, private sector stakeholders and leading Italian sports personalities.
Speakers will include, among others, the Minister of Tourism, Massimo Garavaglia, the Minister for Youth Policies, Fabiana Dadone, the Minister for Disabilities, Erika Stefani, the Undersecretary of State for Sport, Valentina Vezzali, the President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation and CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) President Giovanni Malagò, the Managing Director of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, Vincenzo Novari and the President of the Italian Paralympic Committee, Luca Pancalli.
During the event, the Olympic and Paralympic flags will be handed over at the presence of the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, the President of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Arno Kompatscher, the Mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, the Mayor of Cortina, Gianpietro Ghedina and the “Ambassadors” of the Games, Bebe Vio and Deborah Compagnoni.
The event will be streamed live on the YouTube page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Farnesina – YouTube and on the website esteri.it.
Alternatively, journalists will be able to follow the event in person, in the Aldo Moro listening room.
Journalists and cameramen interested in covering the event in person may apply for accreditation by 4:00 pm on Tuesday 7 June, VIA E-MAIL to be sent to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. +39 06/3691-3432 or 8573), enclosing the required digital documentation (letter from the newspaper they work for and, for foreign media and press staff , also a Note Verbale from the Rome Embassy of the country of the media company represented).
Accredited press staff may enter the Farnesina, wearing an FFP2 mask, from the central entrance, left side, as follows:
– cameramen, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am
– journalists, from 10:30 am to 10:50 am
