On Monday, 5 December 2022 at 10:30 AM, the Farnesina’s International Conference Hall will host the meeting titled “Legal Diplomacy at the Service of Peace and International Security: Italy’s Commitment to Combat Corruption” organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day.
The meeting opens the Farnesina’s cycle of “Global Days”, a series of initiatives on issues of international interest to share information and best practices and will take place at the attendance of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, and the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio. The Secretary General of the OECD, Mathias Cormann, will deliver a video message.

The event will open with remarks by the Secretary General of the Farnesina, Francesco Sequi, and will be moderated by journalist Bruno Vespa. It will be attended by the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Italy and by the representatives of the principal national and international institutions engaged in combating corruption in the world of business and in civil society.

The meeting will close with remarks by the Farnesina’s Director General for Globalisation and Global Issues, Vincenza Lomonaco.

The event is entirely open to the media and will be broadcast in live streaming from the Farnesina’s

YouTube channel and its esteri.it website.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in covering the event in person may apply for accreditation by no later than 4:00 PM on Saturday, 3 December, via email to the following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel: +39 06/3691.3432 – 06/3691.8573), attaching thereto:

– an identity document;

– a letter of his/her media organization and, in lack thereof, a professional press card;

– a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organization’s Country (for representatives of foreign media).

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews will be able to access the Farnesina Building from the main entrance, left-hand side, from 9:45 to 10:15 AM.

The use of a FFP2 mask is highly recommended.

The provision of the above-stated personal data is tantamount to authorizing its use in compliance with Legislative Decree N. 196 of 30 June 2003 and of the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or reasons linked to the performance of the event concerned.
