PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE

94th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LATERAN TREATY

(Italian Embassy to the Holy See, 14 February 2023)

 

Tuesday 14 February 2023, at the Italian Embassy to the Holy See (Palazzo Borromeo), at the presence of the President of the Italian Republic – Sergio Mattarella -, the President of the Italian Council of Ministers – Giorgia Meloni -, and highest institutional offices of the Italian Republic and the Holy See, the 94th anniversary of the Lateran Treaty will be celebrated, as well as the 39th anniversary of the Agreement for the amendment of the Concordat.

The first round of discussions will begin at 4:20 p.m.

Given the premise’s limited capacity of the hall, access to Palazzo Borromeo will be restricted to official photographers and cameramen, for the following photo opportunities:

  • h 4:15 p.m. – first round of discussions;
  • h 5:30 p.m. – second round of discussions.

Those interested to ensure the press coverage of the event at the Italian Embassy to the Holy See, may apply for accreditation by sending their request by Monday 13 February to the following e-mail address accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 or 3078), attaching the following:

For representatives of the Italian press:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper or affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

Foreign press representatives already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should send a request for accreditation with a copy of an identity document attached.

Please note that, unless unexpected substitutions are required, new accreditation requests will not be accepted on the day of the event (14/02/2023).

Accreditation cards must be collected in person from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, main entrance, left side, from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., to carry out the scheduled security checks (punctuality is requested).

A shuttle service from the Farnesina to Palazzo Borromeo and return trip will be offered.

Access to Palazzo Borromeo will be denied to journalists, photographers, and cameramen who have been accredited but come to the event with their own means, without undergoing security checks at the Farnesina and who therefore have not used the available shuttle service.

It will possible to report live via satellite link only outside Palazzo Borromeo (no cables may be laid down indoors), following the communication, to be submitted by Monday 13 February, of the number plates of the vehicles to be used and of the names of the relevant technical staff, in order to authorise their operations outside Palazzo Borromeo (accreditamentostampa@esteri.it).

Appropriate attire is required to attend the event.

The use of FFP2 mask is encouraged.

 

 

Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree No. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
