PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE UPDATE

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPMENT AND MIGRATION

Farnesina, 23 July 2023

On Sunday, 23 July 2023, the International Conference on Development and Migration will be held at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome. Heads of State and Government and Ministers of Foreign Affairs from the enlarged Mediterranean region, the leaders of the European Union and the main international financial institutions will take part in the conference.

The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the arrival of the official delegations at the Farnesina, and the Conference will get underway at 1:00 p.m. in the International Conference Hall, with a welcome address by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, followed by the opening speech by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Two working sessions are scheduled, with the conclusions being entrusted to the Italian Prime Minister.

At the end of the proceedings, a press point by the Italian Prime Minister is scheduled in the Aldo Moro Hall.

The opening speeches and the press point will be streamed live on the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian Government YouTube channels.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Friday, 21 July at 5:00 p.m., to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it  (tel. 06 3691 3432 –3078, 8210 or 8573).

Due to space requirements, it will be possible to accredit 1 journalist, 1 photographer and/or 1 cameraman per newspaper or agency. According to the requests received, it may become necessary to form pools of photographers for photo opportunities, and cameramen for the press point.

Only the first accreditations received in chronological order will be accepted, and only to these will participation be confirmed.

Those who do not receive confirmation of participation will not be allowed to participate.

Only substitutions will be permitted after this deadline.

The accreditation procedures are as follows:

For representatives of Italian press organisations:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

An initial name check will be carried out at the gazebo located on the edge of the red zone, near Via Macchia della Farnesina on the Milvian Bridge side. The representatives of the accredited press will then have to proceed to the entrance to the Farnesina for the subsequent security and accreditation check.
