Now in its eighth edition, the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World is an integrated promotion initiative that aims to showcase the excellence of the Italian food and wine sector abroad, supporting exports, internationalisation and incoming tourist flows.
In this regard, over 9,200 initiatives have been carried out from 2016 to date by the network of Italian Embassies, Consulates, and Cultural Institutes in more than one hundred countries, including in-depth seminars on the Mediterranean diet, meetings with economic operators in the sector, training and demonstration classes, and meetings with chefs. More than one thousand initiatives are planned for the 2023 edition. Among these, ‘Italianismi nel mondo’ (Italianisms in the world), in collaboration with Casa Artusi; ‘Storia della cucina italiana a fumetti’ (History of Italian cuisine in comics), in collaboration with Accademia Italiana della Cucina; as well as a project for the promotion of Italian olive oil and wine in Africa, in collaboration with Gambero Rosso, will be presented in several countries. The conference will also be an opportunity to present the initiative ‘La cucina delle radici’ (Roots cuisine), in collaboration with the magazine La Cucina Italiana.
The event will be streamed on the YouTube channel of the Farnesina.
