The ninety-fifth anniversary of the Lateran Pacts, and the fortieth anniversary of the Agreement amending the Concordat, will be celebrated on Tuesday, 13 February 2024, at the Italian Embassy to the Holy See (Palazzo Borromeo), in the presence of President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella,  Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the highest institutional representatives of the Italian Republic and the Holy See.

The first phase of talks will begin at 4.15 p.m..

In view of the limited space, only official photographers and cameramen will be allowed access to the meeting hall.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Monday 12 February at 4:00 p.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691-3432 – 8573-3078-8210), attaching the following:

  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal Note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

The accredited press shall go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, main entrance, left side, from 1.45 p.m. and no later than 2.45 p.m., for the scheduled security checks (maximum punctuality is requested).

A shuttle service will then leave from the Foreign Ministry to Palazzo Borromeo and back.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen, even if previously accredited, will not be allowed access to Palazzo Borromeo if they travel to the event by their own means, without having gone through the security checks at the Foreign Ministry and then being accompanied by the shuttle service to the venue.
