PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE
Tomorrow, Thursday, 8 February, at 10:00 a.m., Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia – Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – will present the new virtual assistant (chatbot) of the websites of Farnesina and Italian Embassies and Consulates abroad to the public.
Also attending the event will be the Director General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy – Minister Plenipotentiary Alessandro De Pedys – and the Director General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies – Minister Plenipotentiary Luigi Vignali.
The virtual assistant will allow instant interactions between the Administration and the general public. Through a set of Q&As based on instant messaging systems, the chatbot will direct users towards the desired information. It will answer various questions – mainly concerning assistance with consular and visa issues – which are often addressed to the Office for Relations with the Public and across the Offices located abroad. Farnesina will be one of the first administrations to employ such a tool following the push towards innovation and digitalisation that has already started with the renewal of institutional websites.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the events may apply for accreditation by sending a request not later than 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, 7 February to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 –3078, 8210 or 8573), attaching the following:
