Press Accreditation Note – Italy-China Joint Economic Committee and Business and Dialogue Forum (Verona, 11-12 April 2024)

On Thursday 11 April 2024, starting at 4:00 p.m., the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will chair the Italy-China Joint Economic Committee (Commissione Economica Mista, CEM) together with the Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Wentao, at the Prefecture Palace in Verona (Palazzo del Potestà).

The Italy-China Joint Economic Committee (CEM) is the main instrument for economic and trade cooperation with China and is one of the dialogue mechanisms of the Global Strategic Partnership established in 2004.

Following the conclusion of the work, at about 6:00 p.m., Minister Tajani will hold a press conference.

On Friday 12 April 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m., Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Wentao, will open the proceedings of the Italy-China Business and Dialogue Forum at Veronafiere.

In addition to Minister Tajani and Minister Wang, representatives of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), of Confindustria and of their Chinese counterparts – which are members of the Business Forum’s Technical Secretariat – will take the floor, as will members of the internationalisation hub (SACE, SIMEST, CDP) and of selected Italian and Chinese companies.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the proceedings of the two events may send their accreditation requests by Wednesday 10 April at 6:00 p.m.

Please specify if accreditation is required for both events via e-mail to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 – 3078 or 8210), attaching the following:

  • copy of an identity document
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

Cameramen and photographers interested in covering the arrival of delegations and the family photo on 11 April may indicate their request in the accreditation e-mail and may report to the Palazzo del Potestà, Piazza dei Signori entrance, from 3:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on 11 April 2024.

Representatives of the press accredited to follow only the Minister’s press conference may enter the Palazzo del Potestà from the entrance in Piazza dei Signori, from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on 11 April 2024.

Press accredited for the 12 April Business and Dialogue Forum can access Veronafiere SpA by following the directions to Centro Congressi Palaexpo – Ingresso A1 (stabile Palaexpo), Viale del Lavoro, 8 (https://www.veronafiere.it/info-e-servizi/raggiungere-veronafiere/), from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on 12 April 2024.
