Minister Tajani’s speech at the institutional session
of the Workshop for the Reconstruction of Ukraine
(MAXXI Museum Auditorium – Wednesday 15 May)
On Wednesday 15 May 2024 from 11.00 a.m. the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, will speak at the Auditorium of the National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome – MAXXI in the Institutional Session of the Workshop for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, an event organised by the Foreign Ministry with MAXXI and the Milan Triennale. The Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, the Ukrainian Minister of Culture, Rostyslav Karandieiev, UNESCO’s Deputy Director General for Culture, Ernesto Ottone Ramirez, the President of the Milan Triennale, Stefano Boeri, and the President of the MAXXI Foundation, Alessandro Giuli., will also participate in the event. The session will be moderated by the Special Envoy of the Foreign Minister for the reconstruction process in Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia.
Italy is actively engaged in all-round support for Ukraine and in favour of the country’s recovery, reconstruction and modernisation, in line with the EU accession process. Italy has a major role to play in this phase, as the current G7 Presidency and organiser of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2025, the main international event for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Following the launch of the initiative at the Milan Triennale on 31 October, the Reconstruction Workshop at MAXXI will provide an opportunity to promote an operational framework of cooperation on the reconstruction of Odessa. It also intends to provide a forum for reflection and exchange of views, through the involvement of public and private actors, to generate projects on the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The meeting will be streamed live on the Foreign Ministry’s YouTube channel.

for representatives of Italian press organisations:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.
For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
- Verbal Note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.
For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request shall be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.
Accredited journalists and cameramen may have access to MAXXI from the entrance in Via Guido Reni 4/A, from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. on 15 May 2024.
