G7 Italy Engagement Group
(Rome, 20-24 May 2024)
On the occasion of Italy’s G7 Presidency, the Youth 7 Italy 2024 Summit – G7 Italy Engagement Group will be held in Rome from 20 to 24 May 2024.
The Y7 Italy 2024 process is an initiative of the Italian non-profit organisation Young Ambassadors Society (YAS), as supported by the Sherpa Office of the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers. The Summit is aimed at presenting proposals for a prosperous, stable and inclusive future to the Heads of State and government.
The four subject areas covered by the Y7 Italy 2024 working group are:
1) Environmental sustainability and climate change
2) Innovation and digital transformation
3) New skills, entrepreneurship and the future of work
4) Inclusion and equal opportunities
The Summit opening ceremony, to be held on Monday 20 May in the International Conference Room at the Farnesina from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will be opened by the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani. The Italian Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, the Director-General of FAO, Qu Dongyu, the CEO of EY Italy, Massimo Antonelli, and the President and Founder of Yas (Young Ambassadors Society) and Y7 Chair, Alberta Pelino, will be present.
During the opening ceremony, a representative from each of the G7 Youth Delegations will present their country’s priorities.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the event may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Friday 17 May at 6:00 p.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 – 3078 or 8210), attaching the following:
For representatives of Italian press organisations:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.
For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
- Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.
For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.
Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen may enter the Farnesina from the main entrance, left side, from 09:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on 20 May 2024.
Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
