G7 Trade Ministers’ Meeting Press Conference

On Friday 12 July 2024, at 4:30 p.m.,
in the Aldo Moro Room, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani will hold a press conference to illustrate the priorities of the G7 Trade Ministers’ Meeting to be held in Villa San Giovanni – Reggio Calabria on 16-17 July.

The Trade Ministers’ Meeting will address four priority themes chosen by the Italian Presidency: strengthening the multilateral trading system by reforming the World Trade Organisation; ensuring a level playing field in global markets; encouraging environmental sustainability in trade; and improving economic resilience and security.

Italy’s objective is that free trade and the principles established by the World Trade Organisation remain the building blocks of global economic prosperity, which is also fundamental for Italy’s economic development in view of our export vocation. With this in mind, the President of Italian Trade Agency, Matteo Zoppas, will also speak at the press conference to illustrate some data on Italian exports.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the event may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Friday 12 July at 10:00 a.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 or 3078), attaching the following:

For representatives of Italian press organisations:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

The accredited press may enter the Farnesina from the central entrance, left side, from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m.

 

Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
