UPDATE PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE
MAECI – UNIVERSITY OF ROME “FORO ITALICO” AGREEMENT
(Farnesina, 19 maggio 2025)
On Monday, 19 May 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the Aldo Moro Hall of the Farnesina, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will open the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the MAECI and the “Foro Italico” University of Rome for the establishment of the scholarship programme “Italy runs towards the future”. Also attending the event will be the Rector of the “Foro Italico” University, Attilio Parisi, as well as athletes Lorenzo Ndele Simonelli, Italian record-holder in the 60m hurdles, and Yohanes Chiappinelli, middle-distance runner and marathoner.
Following the speeches, Minister Tajani and Rector Prof. Parisi will proceed with the signing of the Agreement.
Announced by the Minister last October at the G7 Development meeting in Pescara as part of the “Education/Training” pillar of the Mattei Plan, the programme “Italy runs towards the future” will award scholarships to students from ten Sub-Saharan African countries to attend postgraduate degree courses in Sport and Exercise Sciences and Sport Management at the Roman university. The initiative is a concrete contribution to the implementation of the sports diplomacy strategy launched by Minister Tajani.

For representatives of the Italian press organisations:
– a copy of the identity document,
– a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.
For representatives of foreign press organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
– a copy of the identity document,
– letter from the newspaper of affiliation,
– Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.
For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.
Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen will be able to access the Farnesina from the main entrance, on the left side, from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. on 19 May 2025.
Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
