De Sanctis Award for Literature 2025 Ceremony
(Villa Madama, 23 May 2025)
On Friday 23 May at 6:00 p.m., the 14th edition of the De Sanctis Award for Literature 2025 will take place at Villa Madama. The event will be opened by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, and the Undersecretary for Culture, Lucia Borgonzoni. Speakers will include the President of the De Sanctis Foundation, Francesco De Sanctis; Monica Lucarelli, Councillor for Productive Activities and Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Rome; and Gianni Letta, President of the De Sanctis Award.
The ceremony, organised by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the De Sanctis Foundation, will be presented by the President of the Jury, Giorgio Ficara. The event will be moderated by journalist Maria Antonietta Spadorcia, Deputy Director of Tg2.
For over a decade, the De Sanctis Foundation has promoted initiatives aimed at disseminating culture and literature, and at rediscovering the classics through festivals, marathons, conferences, and reading cycles held in institutional venues, Italian Cultural Institutes, major theatres, prisons, and schools.
The De Sanctis Award is held annually in collaboration with key state institutions, with the aim of internationally recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves in the fields of the humanities, social sciences, and economics.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the event can apply for accreditation by sending a request by 1:00 p.m. on Friday 23 May via e-mail to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691 8210, 3432, 3078 or 8573), as follows:
For representatives of the Italian press organisations:
– a copy of the identity document,
– a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.
For representatives of foreign press organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
– a copy of the identity document,
– letter from the newspaper of affiliation,
– Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.
For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.
Badges must be collected in person at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, central entrance, left side, on the day of the event (Friday 23 May) between 4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
As it is not possible to reach Villa Madama with private vehicles, accredited journalists will be transported to Villa Madama via a shuttle service operating from the central entrance of the Farnesina (round trip), available until the conclusion of the event.
