Preparatory event for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025
Local and Regional Dimension
(Verona, 12 May 2025)

 

On Monday 12 May 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the fourth preparatory event for the Ukraine Recovery Conference—scheduled to take place in Rome on 10 and 11 July 2025—will be held in Verona at the Verona Fiere Centro Congressi, Auditorium Verdi, Viale del Lavoro No. 8. This edition will focus on the Local and Regional Dimension, as part of the “On the Road to URC 2025” initiative.

The event, which is fully open to the press, is organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with Italian Trade Agency, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

The main session on international partnerships will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will feature speeches by the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani; the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba; the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, Teresa Czerwińska; and the Mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi. Further contributions throughout the day will include the First Deputy Minister for for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Aliona Shkrum; the Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Oleksii Riabykin; and Italy’s Special Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia.

The event will include a series of working sessions on the role of local and regional authorities in Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, particularly in relation to access to financing and capacity-building for the effective use of resources. Discussions will explore how to align donor efforts and Ukrainian authorities’ initiatives to build resilient communities through sustainable urban development, preservation of cultural identity, housing, distributed electricity generation, and local economic growth.

A group photo session for photographers and cameramen is scheduled at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Conference Centre.

The main session on international partnerships will be live-streamed on the Farnesina’s official YouTube channel.

Journalists interested in attending the event in person can apply for accreditation by sending a request by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 9 May via e-mail to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. +39 06/3691-8210-3432-8573 or 3078), as follows:

For representatives of the Italian press organisations:

– a copy of the identity document,

– a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

– a copy of the identity document,

– letter from the newspaper of affiliation,

– Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

Journalists who receive confirmation of their accreditation at the same email address used for the request must arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for the necessary security checks and to collect their badges at the Verona Fiere Centro Congressi, Viale del Lavoro No. 8. Badges must be collected in person upon presentation of a valid ID document.
