Presentation of the second edition of the project
“Sport and Innovation Made in Italy”
(Farnesina, 16 May 2025)

 

On Friday 16 May 2025, at 11:30 a.m., at the Sala dei Trattati of the Farnesina, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Antonio Tajani, and the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, will open the second edition of the project “Sport and Innovation Made in Italy”, a sports diplomacy initiative that promotes Italian excellence in the world thanks to the strategic partnership between Sport e Salute S.p.A. and ITA, and in collaboration with the Italian Federations of Athletics, Swimming and Tennis and Padel.

The Director of Rai Sport, Paolo Petrecca, will moderate the event in which the ITA President, Matteo Zoppas, the President of Sport e SaluteMarco Mezzaroma, as well as the President of the Italian Swimming Federation, Paolo Barelli, of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, Angelo Binaghi, and of the Italian Athletics Federation, Stefano Mei, will participate – accompanied by athletes representing each Federation.

The event will be live streamed on the Farnesina YouTube channel.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in following the event in person may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Thursday 15 May at 3:00 p.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 – 3078 or 8210), attaching the following:

for representatives of Italian press organisations:

·  copy of an identity document;

·  letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card;

 for representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

·  copy of an identity document;

·  letter from the newspaper of affiliation;

·  Verbal Note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

 For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request shall be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

 Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen may enter the Foreign Ministry from the main entrance, left side, from 10.45 to 11.15 of 16 May, 2025.

Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
