UPDATE – PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE
Arrival in Italy of a group of Palestinian students from the Gaza Strip
(Ciampino Airport – 31st Wing, 23 October 20-25)
This evening, Thursday 23 October 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., two special flights will land at Rome Ciampino Military Airport (31st Wing) carrying a group of 49 Palestinian students and researchers from the Gaza Strip, who will be welcomed to Italy under scholarship programmes. One of the two flights will subsequently continue on to Milan Airport. The initiative also includes 16 Palestinian citizens arriving in Italy for family reunification purposes.
Representing the Italian Government, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani will welcome the group at Ciampino, together with Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini, who is currently travelling to Amman to accompany the scholarship students.
Transport from Jordan will be carried out by a special flight operated by the Guardia di Finanza (Italian Financial Police). The flights have been arranged with the contribution of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), the Civil Protection Department, and the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen wishing to cover the arrival are kindly invited to apply for accreditation by sending their request—indicating full name, place and date of birth, telephone number, and attaching a copy of an identity document and professional press card—to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it by 12:00 noon today, Thursday 23 October 2025.
Those intending to park their vehicle at the airport (restricted military area) are also asked to indicate the make and registration number of the vehicle in their request.
Accredited members of the press are kindly requested to arrive at Ciampino Military Airport by 6:30 p.m.
