Minister Tajani’s Participation in World Food Day 2025

On Thursday, 16 October, starting at 9:30 a.m., the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will participate in World Food Day 2025 at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Viale delle Terme di Caracalla in Rome.
This year, World Food Day coincides with the 80th anniversary of the FAO and has the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.” On this occasion, Minister Tajani will deliver the national address to the plenary session and cut the ribbon at the inauguration of the “FAO Food and Agriculture Museum and Network – FAO MuNe,” funded by the Italian Cooperation. The event will also be attended by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella; the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni; the FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu; His Holiness Pope Leo XIV; King Letsie III of Lesotho, FAO Special Ambassador for Nutrition; Queen Letizia of Spain, FAO Special Ambassador for Nutrition; Princess Basma Bint Ali of Jordan, FAO Ambassador for the Near East and North Africa; the President of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi Martinez; the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Alvaro Lario; the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Cindy Hensley McCain; and the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event can apply for accreditation by sending a request by email to FAO-Newsroom@fao.org, attaching a copy of professional identity card or a letter of assignment on the newspaper’s letterhead, and a copy of a valid identity document (passport or ID card).
