COMMEMORATION OF AMBASSADOR LUCA ATTANASIO AND CARABINIERE SCELTO VITTORIO IACOVACCI
(Farnesina, 24 February 2026)
On Tuesday, 24 February, at 3.30 p.m., the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will attend a laurel wreath-laying ceremony for the unveiling of the commemorative plaque dedicated to personnel fallen abroad, at the Farnesina.
The ceremony is being held on the fifth anniversary of the attack in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in which Ambassador Luca Attanasio, Carabiniere Scelto Vittorio Iacovacci and World Food Programme driver Mustapha Milambo lost their lives.
Members of the Attanasio family and General of the Carabinieri Corps Salvatore Luongo will also attend the ceremony.
