Amman: Meeting of the Counter ISIL Finance Group

Amman played host to the 9th Counter ISIL Finance Meeting on 11 February. The Group was first established in 2015 within the framework of the Global Anti-Daesh Coalition. It is chaired by Italy, the USA and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting, which was attended by 49 delegations of member countries and observer states, focused on the steps that within the scope of the Coalition’s strategy to defeat ISIS, need to be taken to block the sources of funding for Daesh and its affiliated groups, as well as to stop them from accessing the international financial system. The Italian chair of the Counter ISIL Finance Group is held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
