The Italian Ambassador to the United States, Armando Varricchio, paid a visit to the State of Alabama, where he met with the Governor, Ms Kay Ivey.
The talks took place in the State’s capital Montgomery and focused on strengthening political, cultural, and economic relations with Alabama, and also on cooperating in the industrial sector.
The Ambassador’s trip to Alabama also included a stop in Tuskegee, where he visited the site chosen by Leonardo for the construction of an assembly line for the first T-100 jet trainer in case it wins the relative tender. The investment is linked to the participation of its affiliate DRS in the competition for the supply of the new jet trainer to the U.S. Airforce.
The eventual adjudication of the contract to Leonardo DRS will create nearly 250 new job opportunities in the area around Tuskegee.
