Astaldi has been awarded the contract for the construction of the new Medical School in Panama in joint venture with Cocige. The call for tenders was published in December 2016 and the process lasted for more than 20 months due to various appeals lodged by the participating companies, but in the end the Italian company was awarded the contract thus rewarding also the constant and unfailing support provided by the Italian Embassy to Panama, in the person of the Ambassador, Marcello Apicella. The Dean of the Medical School, Enrique Mendoza, expressed “great satisfaction” for the outcome of the tender and underlined how the new construction will provide the Country with an institution of advanced education and research, that will be built right next to the Ciudad de la Salud ‘, a large public hospital complex that belongs to the Panamanian social security and health care body.
